AGENTS OF CHANGE

Dr. Mateus
Mutola
The Lord Jesus gave the keys of the Kingdom of God to His Church to bring Kingdom influence in the nations of the world (Matthew 16.19).

After being challenged through my studies at UGCS I realized we cannot bring change to our communities and nations without being involved to some degree. To get involved, I had to identity some needs in my community and seek to meet them in a practical way that would exude the love of God. Early this year, I created MICASO, an element of Word of Life Ministries, for the sole purpose of meeting the basic human needs of the most vulnerable in my community and promote social justice and equality. The Lord Jesus said when we take care of the least in our societies by meeting them at the point of their needs in a practical way, we do it unto Him (KJV, Matthew.25.35, 40). On the 30th of September we visited the Pediatric of Mavalane Hospital in Maputo City that accommodates and provides treatment for children, infants, and adolescents aged 0 to 14. Our visit was termed “Eternal Love.” We demonstrated God’s Love by ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ via healing, smiles, hugs, gifts to the children and hope to their parents. The doctors, wardens and parents of the children were filled with amazement, joy and gratitude. It was the first activity of MICASO since its inception and we intend to do more of such activities within the different communities in Maputo City.

On April 2016, I founded the Council of Students and Professionals (CEP) with the vision to provide professional guidance in Kingdom education, vocation and orientation to Christian students and professionals to meet present market demands so that they will be able to perform their work with excellence and integrity. On August 20, 2016, CEP had its first open seminar with the theme, “Responding to Academic Challenges and Professional Demands.” We had four different sub-themes namely, “The Importance of Studying,” “Studying Techniques,” “Professional by Excellence” and “How to Deal with Failure.” Students and professionals from different church denominations and professional institutions, companies and organizations attended the seminar. One of the attendants was Mr. Onesimo Singa who is the Executive Director of Onesimo Business Network. Mr. Singa was so elated by such Christian initiative that he encouraged us to run faster with the vision. The next seminary is scheduled for November 5th with the theme, “Developing Creativity and Interpersonal Relationships”.

I also founded Mamu Coaching which seeks to empower people from all walks of life with the right understanding of who they truly are – the images of a loving God – hence bring them to the full understanding of their unlimited potential. I train them to live their lives to the full by becoming aware of the gifts God created them with and release these to the world in order to benefit others in making the world a better place. I have designed personal courses on subjects such as Purposeful Living, The Power of Choice, The Power of Personal Vision, True Identity, Healthy Relationships, Born to Reign, Manifest your Potential, The Right Approach to Failure and World Changers, not to mention others that are still under production. Furthermore, I do lectures in schools, universities and business workshops. I am now targeting private companies. My primary goal with Mamu Coaching is to help and motivate people be all God designed them to be on this side of the world. On March 19, 2016, I was a keynote speaker in a workshop organized by Success Workshop Company. I addressed an audience of 300 people from the educational, business and private sectors. My subject was “Healthy Relationships” in which I deliberated on Intra-Relationship as the most important relationship one can ever develop. This relationship must be based on Truth. I am scheduled to speak on a private High School this month. All my presentations are centered on Christ and His Word.

In October 2016, I was invited to attend a Peace Dinner Banquet organized by the Peace Island Association and the Council of Religions in Mozambique. The dinner is held annually in celebration of the Roma Cease-Fire Treaty signed by FRELIMO and REMANO on October 4, 1992 and advocates for peace and unity in Mozambique. The dinner is generally attended by key public peace advocates, influential religious leaders, noted politicians, business icons, foreign ambassadors, university professors and chancellors. The Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs, Mr. Isaque Chande, was the keynote speaker of the night.

From what I mentioned above, you can see that I am passionate about bringing Kingdom influence to the marketplace in my country and generation. I quote Prof. Clyde Rivers, Chief Chancellor of UGCSI, “Yes, we will!”
